ABOUT
Aksa Lima is a Brazilian film director and screenwriter from São Paulo, Brazil. She co-directed and wrote the documentary Memoirs of Cláudio Fulco (2015) while still in film school; the film was selected for the PrimeirOlhar Festival in Portugal and aired on Canal Brasil. She also contributed as a screenwriter and editor on the documentary Em Mim, Oceano (2021), available on Canal Off, and wrote and directed the fiction short Quagmire (2023), which screened internationally and received several awards, including Best Drama at the Texas Short Film Festival and Best Cinematography at the São Paulo International Film Festival. Her creative short An Immeasurable Void (2024) was featured on the Director’s Library platform. Her music videos Alguém na Janela (2018) and Arritmia (2021) earned over 15 national awards for Best Direction and Best Music Video.
Aksa has directed commercial campaigns for a wide range of major brands, both Brazilian and international, such as Adidas, Samsung, Lindt, Sony, Pepsi, Philadelphia, Modelo, Ikea and Disney. She works between Los Angeles and São Paulo, collaborating with production companies and agencies in both countries to create campaigns for diverse markets.
She accumulated valuable industry experience at the American Cinematheque, assisting in Q&A sessions with renowned filmmakers and expanding her understanding of the creative and professional directing process. In 2024, she was selected by Disney/ABC to shadow director David Greenspan on Station 19 (episode 707), observing the on-set decision-making workflow of a major television production.
Aksa holds a BFA in Film from Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (2016), a specialization in Audiovisual Business and Cinema from ONG Contato (2020), and completed the Directing program at UCLA (2023). She is a native Portuguese speaker, fluent in English and proficient in Spanish, holds an O-1 Visa for the United States, and is available to work worldwide.
She is currently writing her debut feature, Vortices, supported by the PROAC SP development fund. Growing up with limited resources and supported by social and scholarship programs, Aksa believes deeply in art and education as powerful engines for social and economic transformation.
