ABOUT
In what has become a steadily ascending directing career, Aksa Lima is currently developing her debut feature film, Vortices, supported by the PROAC SP Development Fund, while expanding her experience in narrative filmmaking after being selected by Disney/ABC to shadow a director on the show Station 19.
Aksa Lima is a Brazilian film director and screenwriter working between Los Angeles and São Paulo. Alongside her narrative work, she has built a solid career directing commercial campaigns for major Brazilian and international brands, including Adidas, Samsung, Lindt, Sony, Pepsi, Philadelphia, Modelo, IKEA and Disney. She collaborates with production companies and agencies in both markets to create campaigns for diverse audiences and platforms.
Her fiction short Quagmire (2023) screened internationally and received multiple awards, including Best Drama at the Texas Short Film Festival and Best Cinematography at the São Paulo International Film Festival. In 2024, her creative short An Immeasurable Void was featured on the Director’s Library platform. Her earlier music videos, Alguém na Janela (2018) and Arritmia (2021), earned more than 15 national awards for Best Direction and Best Music Video.
Aksa’s documentary background includes co-directing and writing Memoirs of Cláudio Fulco (2015), produced while she was still in film school. The film was selected for the PrimeirOlhar Festival in Portugal and later aired on Canal Brasil. She also worked as a screenwriter and editor on the documentary Em Mim, Oceano (2021), available on Canal Off.
She accumulated industry experience at the American Cinematheque, gaining close exposure to the professional directing ecosystem. In 2024, she was selected by Disney/ABC to shadow director David Greenspan on Station 19 (episode 707), observing the creative and production decision-making process of a major television set.
Aksa holds a BFA in Film from Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (2016), a specialization in Audiovisual Business and Cinema from ONG Contato (2020), and completed the Directing Program at UCLA in 2023. She is a native Portuguese speaker, fluent in English, proficient in Spanish, holds an O-1 Visa in the United States, and is available to work worldwide.
Growing up with limited resources and supported by social and scholarship programs, Aksa believes deeply in art and education as powerful engines for social and economic transformation, values that continue to inform both her narrative and commercial work.
